Highlighting has become a popular beauty trend in the makeup industry. Generally, highlighter is applied to areas of the face where the light naturally illuminates it. When done correctly, it enhances your bone structure and gives your look a perfect, glowing finish. Highlighter is sold in various forms, including liquid, cream, and powder. At Blush, Face Atelier Ultra Sheer liquid highlighter and Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight highlighting powder are two customer favorites. For applying a liquid highlighter, we recommend applying with your fingertips. This helps the product melt smoothly into your skin. When applying a powder highlighter, we suggest using different brushes depending on the area of the face you are highlighting. For the cheeks, we use a Kevyn Aucoin large fan brush. On the forehead, nose, chin, and cupid's bow we use a Kevyn Aucoin small eye shadow brush. Usually, highlighter is applied towards the end of your makeup routine after applying foundation, powder, concealer, etc. Below is a quick tutorial showing you how to achieve the perfect highlight!

Step 1: Dab the highlighter on top of the highest point of your cheekbones

Step 2: Layer the highlighter over the center of the forehead above the nose

Step 3: Dab the highlighter directly over the center of the chin

Step 4: Dab the highlighter on the tip of your nose

Step 5: Dab the highlighter over your cupid's bow above your upper lip
